Portfolio created 2/11/2011

My name is Taylor Gilbert and I am currently a freshman in the ninth grade at Calhoun High School.
I have many qualities that are useful such as: responsibility, quick thinking, intelligence, good time management, organization, and strong leadership.
I work hard at anything I do in and out of school and have received many achievement awards by doing so, like the principle’s award, and I’m currently top of my class. My goals are to be Valedictorian when I graduate, to make all A’s throughout high school, and to pursue a career in law one day.

I am interested in pursuing a career in the criminal law field.
The main reason I would love to become a criminal lawyer, is because I would not only have the chance to make a difference in someone’s life and society, but I would be able to uphold the interesting laws our forefather’s set for us so long ago.
I am a third year member of the High School’s debate team that helps you get a feel as to how to go about a legal proceeding in a court room, and how as to write a persuasive document to pursuade others to listen to your side of a case.
There are two types of law fields that are available; Criminal law and Civil law which are mainly focused in city law firms.
My references would say I am a diligent, hardworking girl who tries hard for anything I set my mind to.

My work sample is a word document that illustrates my views on the best modern day president. I chose this sample, because it shows my persuasiveness in my writing like you would use in a court of criminal law.
I created this sample of work in my freshman year of Advanced Placement Government to showcase my ability to persuade another of my views of a situation. This sample is a document that states my views of why I think Franklin Roosevelt was the best president of our time, because of his role in America’s political scope.
This sample can be located in the Productivity Section on page____.

When looking at my portfolio, please understand that as a high school student my goals and ambitions are probably more realistic than the average teenager, so please consider a hardworking intern as a great choice for your firm.
Through making this portfolio, I learned what employer’s are looking for in an opening letter. I also learned how to create a document to show employer’s what I, Taylor Gilbert, am truly about. If any questions should arise when an employer looks at my work, they can contact me through my cell : (678)882-6584 or through my email: mtgilbert@yahoo.com, or they can check out my online portfolio at portfoliopen.com.
